Desert Boots

RangerMade Top rated military tactical boots for 2007. USMC Combat Boot, Hot Weather (MCCB[HW]) Overview: The MCCB (HW) is a vast improvement over the former Jungle and Desert boot options. Although both boots are still being used by other Services, the MCCB (HW) combines some of the best characteristics of both boots into one multi functional item. The significant areas of improvements achieved through the innovative design of this footwear include: infrared and visible light signature reduction, improved shock attenuation, injury reduction, improved traction, and increased comfort. Current footwear technology requirements to improve human system performance have been included, and are comparable to cutting edge footwear technology found in some commercial products. As commercial products generally do not meet the need of the Marine Corps, commercial performance requirements were modified to address the specific needs of Marines in both Jungle and Desert environments. Description: USMC Hot Weather Combat Boot, a hybrid between the old Jungle and Desert boots, weighs approximately 2-lbs. per boot, has a partial speed lace closure system (lace to toe or open toe design), and removable cushion inserts. The boot leather is a breathable, water-resistant, flesh out, mildew resistant, Olive-Mojave shade, with an embossed Eagle Globe and Anchor on the outside heel. The boot is also constructed with nylon quarters, internal lining, closed cell foam comfort collar, backstay, ankle reinforcement, rubber outsole, and a polyether polyurethane cushion midsole. Status: Currently being fielded throughout the USMC by a 3rd party logistics organization tasked by the USMC to distribute uniform related items. In FY04, DSCP will competitively award a new contract for completion of acquisition objectives and on-going sustainment.
